The western alliance, which wanted to ensure the re-formation of Germany, formed a front and power against the Soviets and their administration in the East Germany section. Realizing this, the Soviets have attempted to find new regimes and solutions.

Completed on August 13, 1961, this wall was built overnight. Initially, although 270,000 people have already arrived in West Germany, they have tried to prevent escapes with fences. The east side was painted white to make the wall more effective and to notice the escaped, but the move was inconclusive.

Despite the mines laid, 186 watchtowers, dogs, steel doors, and lighting system in large areas, unfortunately, none of them has worked. Exactly five thousand citizens crossed the wall through tunnels or balloons, which we did not know yet. It is known that an estimated 240 people died trying to cross the Berlin wall, which is approximately 46 kilometers in length.

The citizens of East Germany emigrated to countries such as Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Yugoslavia and fled from there to other countries by trains. This wall of shame now has no concrete effect; but in the abstract sense the effect of the wall and memories are still alive. After the fall of the wall, it was seen that East Germany made significant financial gains, but also played the leading role in the highest unemployment rate.
